🚗 Waymo Goes to Washington
Waymo just announced plans to launch robotaxi rides in Washington, D.C. by 2026. Sounds big, right? There’s a catch — they’ll still need a human behind the wheel.
Even with all the tech, lawmakers and regulators want a little insurance. Literally. Because right now, no one really knows what happens if an AV crashes. Who gets sued? The company? The passenger? The code?
This rollout is less about mobility and more about trust. Until cities, insurers, and the public are all on board, AVs won’t fully take the wheel.
Why it matters: D.C. is a bellwether. If lawmakers are cautious in their own backyard, other cities are watching closely.

🦄 Revel Goes Big
Brooklyn-based Revel just secured a $60 million loan to build out fast-charging infrastructure across New York. Their goal? Over 300 chargers, including massive hubs near LaGuardia and in Queens.
Revel already runs the biggest charging network in NYC. Now they want to lock down more real estate and turn EV charging into a utility — steady, reliable, and hard to live without.
Owning the outlet might be the next big power move in mobility.
